About the Artists: Contact Us
Dave & Coleen Glenn, owners & artists of “Wild and Natural Gallery”, have been a husband and wife team for well over 40 years. Dave has been working with wood for over 55 years, and has personally designed the patterns for 98% of the items we make.

Since Dave is the award winning designer/artist as well as the craftsman, our pieces are unique and, in this respect, we believe that we have the only items of their exact kind in the world! Among Our awards are numerous
1st place ribbons, also several
"Best in Category" and
"Best in Show"awards.
Coleen is the finish and quality control expert and keeps Dave in line (in more ways than one). She also cuts on the saw and produces many of the Desk-Display Art pieces.
There are only two of us doing this work, so it is easier for us to control the quality. However, we must sometimes work twice as hard to keep up with the orders. Over the past decade, we have participated in craft shows and conventions (large, over 100,000 attendees, and small, less than 1,000 attendees) all over the southeastern United States including : Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Massachuets, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Florida. We have won several awards for our display, although we can only use this booth in certain shows with adequate space and configuration availabilities. Our other display, which we use in limited spaces, consists of Pro Panels and Skirted Tables with Wood and Velvet cases.
About the Materials used in making the Burl Art and Framed Art pieces: We have several wonderful suppliers in the Northwest (Oregon, Washington, etc). We use the burls from a variety of trees (mostly Maple) including the Redwood Burl harvested from forest fires. These burls are prepared by our suppliers and are (for the most part) 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches thick and range in size from about 10 x 12 to 20 x 40. After applying our original pattern and cutting the wood, we spend ample time sanding, dipping, re-sanding, then spraying three (3) coats of laquer. Lastly we apply a very simple background to highlight the removed portions of the piece.
About the Materials used in making the Desk-Display Art: The wood used in producing our Desk-Display “Hand Made”, “One-of-a-Kind”, “One-at-a-Time” wild animal oriented gift items is first quality cherry, walnut, or oak. Each piece is hand selected from rough sawn lumber, then milled and cut to pattern specifications. If a “Custom Name” is to be used, the piece is larger and the name is cut right into the pattern. Then, if included (some pieces do not have a clock or pen) a precision mounting hole is accurately drilled to depth for the quartz battery operated clock. After being rough sanded, the piece is then mounted to a solid 3/4 inch base which is fitted for mounting either the parker-style pen or a business card/picture frame holder. After a final smooth sanding, the piece is dipped in Deft Clear Semi-gloss finish, dried, steel-wooled, then sprayed with 2 additional coats of finish. If applicable, the clock, pen, or card/picture holder are applied, and it is ready for your sportsman’s Desk or Mantle, or Bookcase, or, or, or…… Customizing: It has been our pleasure over the years to customize over 500 pieces. This customization ranges from inserting names within a piece to complete design work—i.e. if you have a design (or need) in mind, we’ll go to work drawing and producing a piece especially designed for you.
We really enjoy designing, customizing, and producing “One-of-a-Kind” special Personal, Corporate, Sports, or Wildlife Oriented pieces. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy owning one of our creations.
